About the Police Department

The Coconut Creek Police Department is comprised of 91 sworn law enforcement officers. Located in northern Broward County, the city is 12 square miles divided into six zones.  The population is a diverse mixture of over 53,155 residents.

There are no residency requirements for employment with our agency; however, an officer who resides in the tri-county area will be able to quality for a take home vehicle upon completion of their field training program. Also available upon completion of a probationary period as a patrol officer, officers may be selected for assignment in one of the following specialty positions.

    Yes, but not for immigration purposes.  Fingerprinting services are available Monday - Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.  Please bring your own fingerprint card and valid photo identification.  There is a $10 charge per card, payable by cash or check.

  • How do I obtain a copy of a police report?
    Police reports can be obtained in person, with valid photo identification, during lobby hours, Monday - Thursday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  You can get copies of public police reports or view a daily bulletin of events on the department's Police to Citizen (P2C) web page.

  • How do I commend an employee of the police department?

  • What is the cost and how can I arrange for a police officer for an event? The City of Coconut Creek bills $42 per hour (minimum of 3 hours) for a uniformed officer and marked patrol vehicle.  On national holidays, the cost is $52 per hour.  Unmarked vehicles are available upon request.  Details should be requested at least one week prior to ensure coverage.  Contact the detail coordinator, Officer Steve Daniello, at 954-956-1409.  He will determine the number of officers required for the event.  Please provide the following information:
    • Name of the event
    • Date and time of the event
    • Location of the event
    • Amount of people attending
    • If alcohol will be served

  • Does the Police Department provide a vacation watch to residents?
    Yes, contact the Communications Unit at 954-973-6700.
  • How do I file a complaint?
    Every citizen has the right to file a formal complaint against any employee of the Police Department.

    It is preferred that the complaint be filed by the individual who is directly involved.  The following form can be filled out on your computer and printed or printed and filled out by hand. Completed forms should be mailed to Chief Michael Mann or faxed to 954-956-1546. Please call 954-973-6700 for further questions.

    When a complaint form is received, it is reviewed and assigned to either the affected employee's supervisor or the Internal Affairs Unit.  Allegations of a serious nature will be investigated by the Internal Affairs Unit.  Sworn statements will be taken from the complainant, witnesses, and the subject employee.

    Typically, a complaint is resolved within 45 days, although, some investigations are more complex and may take longer.  All complaints will be investigated, and the complainant will be notified in writing of the results of the investigation.

    Note: It is illegal to knowingly file a false complaint.  You can be criminally prosecuted and held civilly liable.
